In the modern day, technology surrounds every human in one form or another. Whether it be from televisions, phones, or computers, it is clear that technology affects the lives of the human population as well. This effect from technology has in some ways crippled humanity since we need technology more as a crutch than as a tool. A prime example of dependence on a source of technology is the use of the internet. People from all over the world depend on the internet for their everyday needs ranging from grocery shopping to entertainment. Our dependence on this resource increases daily. This dependence has caused side effects not foreshadowed with the internet. Now humanity is faced with reality of internet addiction. Just like any other addiction to drugs, internet addiction can ruin a person and their family. It disconnects people from reality and is dangerous to a point that people have lost their lives to it. Experts believe internet addiction is growing problem in the 21st Century . As the younger generations age they have grown more accustomed to technology and their growing dependence and fascination with its wonders is making internet addiction a worldwide problem.
